Honestly, I am not quite sure what people write in the about me section of their blog. I could tell you about my likes and dislikes, my habits, what I like to do on my days off… but this blog isn’t really about me.

I first had the idea of starting a blog in my last year of undergrad.

I was becoming more and more conscious of my unhealthy habits that were affecting my physical and mental health. My biggest issue was always surrounding digestion and gut health. I used to often joke to my friends “I’m literally always bloated, I could eat a piece of broccoli and bloat.”

I have to admit, I really thought that this was common and that everyone had this much trouble digesting food. It wasn’t until I started going to the gym on a regular basis that I was able to slowly do research on gut health. I found myself being introduced to the world of health and fitness on Instagram and realized I was missing out on feeling good from lack of understanding how my body works.

After that, I started doing a bunch of research on gut health, athletic performance, hormones and nutrition. I realized that maintaining a healthy lifestyle didn’t have to be complicated or difficult, I just had to be more in tune with what my mind, body and soul needed.

I hope this blog can help you like so many others have helped me.

I started Sweet and Savouree in hopes of having a platform where I could post the whole foods recipes I develop, the tips I’ve learned along the way for holistic living and anything else that has helped me feel like I have control over my body.
